Maximus Wunderlich started hearing about Spartan Academy when he was in the 8th or 9th grade. It was an opportunity he couldn't say "no" to. "Graduating high school and earning my college degree at the same time sounded like a good idea."
Wunderlich is a 12th grade student in the East Syracuse Minoa district and is also a full time student at Onondaga Community College. During his junior year at ESM he began taking some classes on the OCC campus. As a senior, his entire course load is at OCC. "There's much more autonomy here. I have classes three days a week and I schedule a break in between them so I can get my work done here rather than at home."
In two months he will complete work toward his Mathematics & Science degree. Wunderlich plans to transfer to a four-year school and focus on aerospace engineering. He hopes future students in the ESM District considering Spartan Academy will take advantage of the opportunity. "If you have good study habits, get your homework done, find a place on campus where you can get work done in-between classes, you can do this."
