 VI. Procedures

Student Fees

The Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer will annually set a fee schedule, taking into account requests from Department or Division Heads. Once the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer has set the fee schedule, he or she will submit it to the President for recommendation to the College’s Board of Trustees for approval along with the tuition schedule. Once the College's Board of Trustees has approved the tuition and fee schedules, they will be filed with SUNY on or before the date set by the Chancellor of SUNY or his or her designee. The College will file the schedules in accordance with the forms and instructions of the SUNY Chancellor.

The College requires students to pay the following types of fees:

  1. Course fees - the College may charge course fees where the course requires supplies, facilities or tools which are unique to individual students or to the course of study and the number of students is too great to permit the College to absorb the costs.
  2. Curriculum Fee - the College may charge curriculum fees which are unique to individual programs to offset the cost of such programs.
  3. Technology Fee – the technology fee provides students with computer labs, technology driven classrooms, web-access for registration, library resources, and on-line courses. This fee is also used to support the College’s technology infrastructure.
  4. Student Recreation and Wellness Fee – the recreation and wellness fee has been established to support intramural, recreation, athletics and wellness programs that promote a healthy lifestyle and enhance student well-being. The College will collect the student recreation and wellness fee and remit it to the OCC Association in accordance with the agreement between the College and the OCC Association.
  5. Student Activity Fee - the student activity fee supports life on campus: clubs and activities, arts programming and special projects that advance student education and engagement. The College will collect the student activity fee and remit it to the OCC Association in accordance with the Agreement between the College and the OCC Association.
  6. New Student Programming Fee – the new student programming fee supports activities directed at engaging new students and orienting them to campus. The College will collect the new student programming fee and remit it to the OCC Association in accordance with the Agreement between the College and the OCC Association.
