We believe children learn best when they are given ample opportunities for observation, exploration, and discovery. Our teachers guide and extend your child's learning by challenging their thinking, reasoning, and problem-solving skills. Activities include a balance of active/quiet play, small/large group, indoor/outdoor, and child initiated/teacher directed. With a nature-based outdoor playground and indoor playrooms, we help build large motor skills regardless of outside weather conditions.
Our six classrooms serve infants (6 weeks to 18 months,) toddlers (18 months to 3 years,) and preschoolers (3 to 5 years.) As a secure facility, we screen each visitor for entry, giving parents great peace of mind.
The Children’s Learning Center (CLC) serves as a community partner with the Onondaga County Head Start Program. Under the partnership agreement, eligible families are dually enrolled in the CLC’s program and Head Start and can take advantage of comprehensive services including access to an onsite family worker, nurse, mental health specialist, nutritionist, and parent educator. In addition, all families and children receive free diapers and wipes while in care and participate in Head Start sponsored programs such as Same Book and Try Me Foods.
The CLC is licensed by the NYS Office of Children and Family Services and accredited by the NAEYC Early Learning Program. We are also one of only three programs in Onondaga county that's nationally accredited and serve as an exemplary teacher training site for students in the Human Services and Teacher Education programs.
